Moto Securityholders approve transaction with Randgold Resources
TSX Code - MGL
AIM Code - MOE
PERTH, Western Australia, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - Moto Goldmines Limited ("Moto") announces that at the special meeting of the registered holders of Moto common shares ("Moto Shareholders") and the holders of options to acquire Moto common shares (together with Moto Shareholders, the "Moto Securityholders"), the Moto Securityholders approved the arrangement resolution regarding the combination (the "Arrangement") with Randgold Resources Limited ("Randgold"), which was announced on August 5, 2009.
Votes on the arrangement resolution were cast in respect of 58.68% of the total number of issued and outstanding Moto common shares and options. Of the votes cast, 98.1% voted in favour and 1.9% voted against.
Based on election forms received from Moto Shareholders by the election deadline of 4 pm (Pacific Time) on October 7, 2009, holders of 17,195,516 common shares elected to receive Cash Consideration, being US$4.47 per Moto common share, as set out in the plan of arrangement (the "Plan of Arrangement") attached to the information circular sent to Moto Securityholders in respect of the meeting, resulting in aggregate cash payable by Randgold of US$76,863,956.52. Since this amount does not exceed the Cash Parameter (as defined in the Plan of Arrangement), no pro-ration of the amount payable to such holders will be required.
Moto currently anticipates applying to the Supreme Court of British Columbia for a final order approving the Arrangement on or about October 14, 2005. The effective date of the Arrangement will be a date agreed between Randgold and Moto and is presently targeted for October 15, 2009. It is expected that the Moto common shares will be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Alternative Market of the London Stock Exchange (AIM) two or three business days following the effective date.

With the Moto deal concluded, RBC sees superior growth potential in Randgold Resources, which now has four new mines on the way.
The fact that a majority of Moto shareholders elected to receive Randgold shares as opposed to the cash was a strong vote of confidence, says RBC.
'We expect Randgold to become a Tier I million-ounce attributable producer by 2014/15.
'Randgold is not short of projects to continue its impressive growth profile. In addition to the ongoing expansion and underground development at Loulo, the Company has four Greenfield development projects coming on stream in the next few years: Tongon, Massawa, Gounkoto, and Moto.
'Randgold is our preferred LSE gold stock for the following reasons: strong balance sheet, outstanding track record, excellent management team. The stock is large and liquid, has strong gold price leverage and pays a dividend.'

Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, 2 November 2009 - Following
the completion of the Moto Goldmines acquisition, Randgold Resources will move quickly to fill in the gaps in the feasibility study on the Moto gold project - now renamed Kibali - and to bring the mine into production as soon as possible.

Volta-Shares.
Ob das nun eine Win-Win Situation ist

Randgold Resources ups Tongon stake
25 November 2009
London, 25 November 2009 - Randgold Resources is to acquire a further
5% interest in the Tongon gold project in Côte d'Ivoire, raising its stake
to 89%. Development of the Tongon mine is currently under way and it is
scheduled to go into production in the fourth quarter of 2010.
The company said today its subsidiary Randgold Resources (Côte d'Ivoire)
Limited had entered into an agreement with New Mining Côte d'Ivoire SA
(NMCI) to acquire the additional interest in Société des Mines de Tongon SA,
the owner of the project, for US$10 million in cash. Of this, US$2 million is
payable on completion of the deal and the balance upon satisfaction of certain
conditions subsequent. After completion NMCI will own 1% of Tongon with the
government of Côte d'Ivoire holding the remaining 10%.
Chief executive Mark Bristow said the company was pleased that it had been
able to raise its stake in Tongon. The increased investment was also a mark
of its confidence in Côte d'Ivoire as an emerging gold region.
"Tongon's development is currently firmly on track to pour
its first gold on schedule," he said.

The underground mineral resources for the KCD deposit are reported as those in situ resources below the pit to underground interface (5685mRL), reported at a 2g/t gold cut-off. As a result of the update, indicated mineral resources are now 13.93 Moz (of which 7.67 Moz are at a grade of 6.08g/t and fall into the KCD deposit underground indicated mineral resource) and inferred mineral resources are 5.83 Moz. This represents a material increase in the indicated mineral resources for the project compared to the 11.29 Moz previously announced by Moto, and a revised underground mining plan is currently being developed to determine the impact on mineral reserves for the project. The present feasibility study on the Kibali Gold Project contemplates an open pit and underground mining operation producing approximately 2.4 Moz of gold in the first five years of operation, with total mineral reserves estimated to be 5.5 Moz. Further details of the feasibility study on the Kibali Gold Project and the results of the mineral resource estimates update by Cube are contained in the mineral expert's report which forms part of the Circular and are also contained in the Technical Report (NI 43-101) - Kibali Gold Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo, dated 27 November 2009, available on the SEDAR website at www.sedar.com

by the way
But the inferred resource -- which indicates a lower level of confidence -- has fallen by 48 percent to 5.83 million ounces.
Some of the inferred resource was lost because it was upgraded and transferred to the indicated category, but Randgold said it was being also being conservative in its estimates of how much gold may be actually extracted.
"The decline in inferred resources resulted partially from conversion to indicated mineral resources as well as Randgold Resources' requirement that all resource estimates reflect only those mineral resources for which there is a reasonable prospect for eventual economic extraction," the company said in a statement.
Randgold -- listed in London and New York -- says Kibali is one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in Africa.
A feasibility study in March envisaged an open pit and underground mining operation, which is planned to produce about 2.4 million ounces of gold in its first five years of operation.

Long Szenario:

Dakar, Senegal --- MININGREVIEW.COM --- 21 January 2010 - International gold mining and exploration company Randgold Resources Limited intends to invest US$300 million (R2.25 billion) in its Massawa project in Senegal.
The Massawa gold project, located in a hilly area some 700 km south-east of the capital contains more than 3 million ounces of gold, according to the firm's website.
“Our chief executive speaks of investing US$300 million in the project,” Randgold Resources Senegal manager David Mbaye told Reuters, without giving details of an investment timetable, or when production might begin.
Mbaye said the company hoped to start building the mine next year. Late last year, Randgold said it expected Massawa to start up by 2013.
Randgold ‒ an Africa specialist and the only pure gold producer in the FTSE 100 index ‒ digs its metal at Loulo and Morila in nearby Mali, where it is also developing the Gounkoto project. As well as its plan to invest in Massawa, the firm is building the Tongon mine in Ivory Coast, which may pour its first gold in the fourth quarter of 2010.
In addition, the company says its Kibali deposit in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits on the continent.

delta RGR1 = 2 mal delta Gold [%]
Profit, Production and Reserves soar in record year
08 February 2010
London, 8 February 2010 - Randgold Resources (LSE: RRS) (Nasdaq: GOLD) crowned a year in which it expanded its flagship Loulo operation, progressed the development of a new mine at Tongon, advanced two major new discoveries and completed the Moto acquisition by posting a 79% year-on-year profit increase on the back of record production at Loulo.
Results for 2009, published today, show a profit of US$84.3 million (2008: US$47 million) for the year. The fourth quarter profit of US$38.7 million was up 185% quarter-on-quarter and 315% up on the corresponding quarter in 2008. Given the profit increase, the board increased the annual dividend by 30% to 17 US cents per share. The company’s balance sheet remains strong, with US$590 million in cash and no net debt.
Attributable group gold production for the year was up 14% at 488 255 ounces, boosted by a strong fourth quarter performance from Loulo, where the recently completed plant expansion significantly increased throughput. Loulo’s production for the year was 351 591 ounces (2008: 258 095 ounces), of which 106 564 ounces came in the last quarter. The Morila joint venture - successfully converted to a stockpile retreatment operation at the beginning of 2009 - produced 341 661 ounces, slightly higher than forecast due to better than planned recoveries and grade.
The prefeasibility study on the Massawa project in Senegal was completed, delivering a reserve of 1.5 million ounces at a grade of 4.6g/t and pointing to more upside. The board approved the study which demonstrated that even without the underground resources it meets the company’s investment hurdle rates. It has now moved into the feasibility phase, while the prefeasibility study on the Gounkoto project near Loulo in Mali is on track for completion in the first quarter of 2010. The initial scoping study on Gounkoto defined a robust resource at a significant grade.
The new projects, combined with a resource conversion drive, have increased attributable group reserves by an estimated 60%. An updated reserve and resource statement will be published with the company’s annual report in March.
In the meantime, the development of the Tongon project in Côte d’Ivoire has continued to make good progress and the new mine is on track to start production in the fourth quarter of this year. At Loulo, the Yalea underground mine is still being developed but contributed a record 57 000 tonnes of ore in the December month. Work on Gara, the second underground mine at Loulo, is scheduled to start during the first half of 2010.
The company today also announced that it was moving the target date for first production at the recently acquired Kibali project in the Democratic Republic of Congo ahead to January 2014. Randgold will manage the project - a joint venture with AngloGold Ashanti - in which it has a 45% interest, with the DRC parastatal OKIMO holding the remaining 10%.
An update of the existing data on Kibali has produced a 23% increase in the indicated resource, which now stands at 13.93 million ounces, while the reserves have grown by 67% to 9.2 million ounces. The company is now focusing on the relocation programme, the environmental and social impact baseline studies, and the optimisation of the development schedule.
Chief executive Mark Bristow said the year had been an extremely challenging one, in which the Randgold team had to meet ambitious production targets while expanding Loulo, building Tongon, moving ahead on Massawa and Gounkoto, and swiftly completing the contested acquisition of Moto - one of the gold mining industry’s more complex M&A transactions in recent years - before acquiring an additional 20% of the Kibali project on behalf of the joint venture.
“The team rose to the challenge and, as our results show, we did very well in every sphere of the business, once again creating real value for all our stakeholders,” he said.
“The year ahead is going to be another testing one, in which we aim to increase production at Loulo further, pour first gold at Tongon and progress the Kibali, Massawa and Gounkoto projects. We’ll also be maintaining our strong focus on the exploration programmes which have already delivered so much and will continue to be the main driver of our organic growth.”

Eigentlich sollte RGR doch überproportional vom Goldpreis
profitieren - bei ca. 550 USD Produktionskosten bzw. 1100 USD Goldpreis:
Faktor (1100/(1100 - 550)) = 2

11th March 2010
TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Nasdaq- and LSE-listed Randgold Resources plans to start construction
later this year on its high-grade Gounkoto project, in Mali, and could pour the first gold early in 2013, CEO
Mark Bristow said on Wednesday.
Randgold produces gold from the Loulo mine, in Mali, as well as the now-halted Morila mine, where it is
processing stockpiled ore. The company is also nearing the end of construction of its new Tongon mine, in
the Côte de Ivoire.
Bristow said he will fast-track Gounkoto, which is a relatively new discovery on the same property as the
operating Loulo mine, while the Massawa project in Senegal, which is turning out to be more complex, will
be pushed back in the development schedule by some nine months.
“Gounkoto is one of those projects that really meet all the criteria,” he said after a presentation to
analysts and investors in Toronto.
"We will finish the bankable feasibility, but it is primarily banked already because [of] its quality, its grade,
its simple metallurgy, it's within the mining lease of Loulo, it's got no fatal flaws in the environmental
studies and it's very close to infrastructure,” he said.
“So it makes sense to bring it forward.”
The company has completed baseline studies and is well advanced in the final impact studies for Gounkoto.
“We are are shooting towards placing orders for long-lead items towards the end of this year, with the
intention of starting construction in earnest in the first quarter of next year.”
Bristow said he still plans to present the details of the Gounkoto prefeasibility study when the company
publishes first-quarter results in a few weeks.
At Massawa, although the project is larger, it is more complex and Randgold wants to give itself time to get
to grips with the deposit, he said.
The company has completed a prefeasibility study, in which it considered both high-grade/low-tonnage
and high-tonnage/low-grade options for developing Massawa, and has decided that the first scenario is the
best route.
The project “has huge potential”, Bristow added.
“But it is more complex, it will take some time.”
Randgold now only expects to start construction on Massawa towards the end of 2011, instead of early in
the year.
But the gold miner is maintaining its production guidance for the next few years, because early production
from Gounkoto will offset the delay at Massawa.
KIBALI
At the Kibali project, which Randgold bought with AngloGold Ashanti when they acquired junior Moto
Goldmines, the company has hit a number of milestones in the last few months, including starting work on
upgrading the road that will connect the Kibali site to the Ugandan border.
The project has also received a crucial hydroelectric site licence, Bristow revealed.
“Without hydro, the economics of this project take a big hammering,” he said.
“But as far as the main base-load power goes, we are comfortable we can cover that with hydro power.
And we have the rights to it.”
Randgold's most advanced project, Tongon in the Cote d'Ivoire, is ahead of plan, on budget and expected
to pour its first gold in October.
Despite its vigorous capital plans over the next four or five years, the company does not expect to have to
raise any money to complete the projects in its pipeline, as long as gold stays above $1 000/oz, Bristow
said.
By 2014, the company could have around $2-billion in free cash, which he promised would be returned to
shareholders.

jährlich eingeplante Geld jetzt neue "Opfer" suchen muss.
btw:
In diesem Artikel:
http://www.presseportal.de/pm/73426/1583412/volta_resources_…

mann, mann, nu is aber gut.

Gold hinterlegten US-Dollar basierte.

RANDGOLD RESOURCES-SETS RECORD STRAIGHT ON TREIBHAUSGASEMISSIONEN
US$-Äquivalent.

Börse: Nasdaq in USD / Kursstand: 83,23 $

Auch weiß man snicht, was danach kommt.

TIPPER TRUCKS START JOURNEY TO GOUNKOTO MINE
Dakar, Senegal, 22 September 2011 - Eleven specially modified 50 tonne trucks have arrived in Dakar in Senegal en route to the new Gounkoto gold mine at Randgold Resources' Loulo mining complex in Western Mali.
The ship carrying the Volvo FMX 10x4 tipper trucks which were purpose-built for the mine by BAS Volvo Trucks in the Netherlands, docked in Dakar this morning. Modifications to the trucks include the addition of a fifth axle and a customised tray with an innovative hardox 500 bottom ware plate system. Three further trucks have been ordered and are scheduled to arrive in Dakar in February next year, bringing Randgold's total investment in the fleet to US$4.2 million.
Transporting these haulage trucks from Dakar harbour to the mine in Mali is being controlled by local Senegalese logistics partner Lamine Gueye of CSTTAO.
The trucks will be used to transport ore from the Gounkoto mine to the plant at Loulo, some 30 kilometres away. "This dedicated fleet will greatly reduce the cost per tonne of ore delivered to Loulo as a result of the increased hauling capacity and efficient fuel consumption," says Randgold group consulting mining engineer Marcel Damen.
Gounkoto which progressed from discovery to production in just 30 months, poured its first gold in June this year, contributing more than 14 000 ounces of gold to the Loulo mine complex's output in its first month of production. Diversion dams and flood berm protection for the open pit were completed before the start of the rainy season. In addition, the haul road to Loulo was established with water control measures such as bridges and culverts. Open pit mining operations are now fully functioning, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Construction of permanent crushing facilities at Gounkoto is nearing completion with a mobile crusher being used in the meantime.
The upgrade to the Loulo plant is also progressing well and remains on track for completion by the end of the year. Additional power generation units are being installed, which will supply the Gounkoto mine as well as the new mill at Loulo. Foundations and civil work for the third mill are well advanced. "Gounkoto brings flexibility and is expected to contribute to an improving production trend from the Loulo complex over the next few quarters," says Randgold CEO Mark Bristow.
"Along with Yalea, Gara and Loulo 3, Gounkoto is part of a big and highly prospective region which stretches from Baboto in the north to Faraba down in the south. With the open pit in production, exploration work at Gounkoto has continued to target the underground potential beneath the pit. Regional exploration is also continuing with the aim of not only extending our existing asset base at Loulo but to discover more Gounkotos," Bristow said.

MINING STARTS AT KIBALI AS PARTNERSHIP CONTINUES TO DELIVER PROGRESS
Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, 25 July 2012 - Open pit mining has started at the giant Kibali gold project in
the DRC, which remains on track for first production towards the end of next year.
At the same time, decline development for the underground mine has commenced with a boxcut to open up the tunnel
portals, while terracing for the metallurgical plant, earthworks for the first of four hydropower stations and infrastructure
construction are all progressing well. Thirteen excavators and 53 trucks are working round the clock and up to the end of
June, more than 500 000m³ of soil had been excavated and 100 000m of fill exceeded. Manufacturing of the mills and
hydro turbines is 85% complete and more than 1 000 tonnes of structural steel and platework is en route to the site. The
project currently employs some 3 500 people, of whom 700 are housed on site.
The resettlement programme, clearing the site for development, is also on schedule, with 774 families already relocated
to the new model village of Kokiza. Kokiza will ultimately accommodate 3 800 families, and construction of all their
homes, as well as a civic infrastructure which will include schools, clinics, shops and churches, is progressing rapidly.
Mark Bristow, chief executive of project developer and 45% shareholder Randgold Resources, said today that all the
challenges presented by a multi-faceted world-class project in a remote part of Africa had thus far been successfully
overcome, thanks in large measure to the productive co-operation between Kibali and the DRC government, which owns
10% of Kibali.
“The DRC had for years tried to interest the major mining companies in this project but all were daunted by its scale and
location. When we came on board in 2009 our first step was to engage the State in a partnership, and the extent to which
both parties have delivered on their commitment is evident in Kibali’s brisk rate of development,” Bristow said.
“Another factor in the project’s progress is the Randgold team’s experience of developing gold mines in Africa – Kibali is
our fifth – and its hands-on management style. Our executives can drive multiple processes running in parallel, making
sure that we deliver on all our objectives, including deadlines and budgets, and keeping seven sets of contractors in
step.”
Bristow noted that since acquiring the project in 2009, Kibali had doubled its reserves, extended the scope and size of the
operation, achieved community acceptance of a large-scale resettlement exercise, developed infrastructure and started
construction ahead of the original schedule. “We also had to deal with elaborate permitting processes, logistical
challenges and joint venture partners whose buy in had to be obtained at each stage. All these obstacles were
overcome,” he said.
Earlier today, Bristow addressed a DRC Ministry of Mines conference on the country’s mining code which is currently
being reviewed.
“We don’t have a problem with the code as it stands, only with its application,” he said. “As investors, one of our key
requirements for a tax system is that it should be stable, predictable and transparent – we need to be able to plan our tax
affairs with a reasonable degree of certainty. That’s why we believe the best way forward for the DRC government and its
mining partners is not to change the rules but to apply them more efficiently and consistently.”
“Given the DRC’s need for economic development and its wealth of mineral resources, the argument for using a stable
and well-administered regulatory regime to promote the country as a major mining investment destination is so strong as
to be unanswerable,” said Bristow.

Von der Randgold-Seite:
Bamako, Mali, 23 August 2012 - Randgold Resources today welcomed the
appointment of a new interim government in Mali which, with the support
of Ecowas and the international community, has been extended to constitute
a government of national unity including all the political parties and civil
society. This represents a further step towards the full normalisation of the
country following the coup attempt earlier this year. Randgold operates the
Loulo and Gounkoto gold mines in Mali as well as the Morila joint venture
and is one of the largest contributors to the country’s economy.
Chief executive Mark Bristow said it was pleasing to see that continued progress
was being made in restoring full political stability in a country which had long
been an exemplary democracy. “We have often said that we have confidence
in the ability of Mali’s people to resolve their differences in a constructive manner
and, while there is still some way to go, this confidence remains unshaken.
In the meantime, we continue to stay in touch with all parties and to monitor
the situation closely,” he said.

Bamako, Mali, 14 January 2013 - Randgold Resources said today its
Loulo-Gounkoto gold mining complex as well as its Morila joint venture
were operating normally following the declaration of a state of
emergency in Mali over the weekend as French forces joined the Malian
army in quelling rebels in the north of the country.
The Randgold operations are in safe areas some 700 kilometres distant
from conflict zones and have not been affected by any of the issues
that have afflicted Mali over the last ten months, including the
recent attacks by rebels in the north of the country. Chief executive
Mark Bristow said the company was nevertheless monitoring the
situation closely and had put contingency plans in place to ensure
that it could continue to contribute to the economy of Mali while
protecting Randgold’s people and property. Should the current military
build-up impact on logistics, both operations are well-stocked with
fuel and other consumables.

MINING CODE CHANGES POSE THREAT TO FUTURE INVESTMENT IN AFRICA
Cape Town, 5 February 2013 – Mining code changes proposed by a number
of African countries will deter further investment there, Randgold
Resources chief executive Mark Bristow cautioned today. Speaking at
the Mining Indaba, Bristow said that with gold exploration and mining
shifting from the developed countries to the world’s emerging
prospective regions, Africa had to compete for investment with South
America, Asia, the Pacific Rim, Eastern Europe and Russia. While
Africa had the advantage of great mineral wealth, its competitors
generally had better infrastructures, greater skills pools and more
sophisticated economies. Bristow pointed out that in the countries
where Randgold has operations – Mali, the Côte d’Ivoire and the
Democratic Republic of Congo – the present mining codes returned a
substantial slice of the net revenue pie to the State in spite of the
fact that Randgold had funded the entire discovery and development
cost and carried all the risks. “The host country is already a
significant if not the main beneficiary of its mining activities. That
is why it is disturbing that there is a growing tendency among the
sub-Saharan mining countries to want more without giving anything
back. Even a moderate change in their current codes will diminish
these countries’ ability to compete for direct fixed investment or to
encourage reinvestment,” Bristow said. “There’s a much better way for
these countries to get more from their mining industries, and that is
to participate positively in the value creation process. As we’ve seen
only too often in the mining industry, mergers and acquisitions hardly
ever deliver value to shareholders, let alone other stakeholders. Real
value, as I believe Randgold has demonstrated over the years, is
created by the discovery of multi-million ounce gold deposits and
their development into profitable mines. Governments’ role in this
should be firstly to provide a stable, business-friendly regime that
will attract or at least not drive away investors, and then to partner
the mining company in the development cycle, helping to drive the
project up the value curve and sharing fairly in its proceeds.

Unglaublich.

It’"s simple, Mr US President, just fund Africa’s capacity" –Randgold - MW/CMR, JOHANNESBURG - Aug 7, 2014
- M. Creamer -
www.miningweekly.com/article/its-simple-mr-us-president-just…
"The builder of five gold mines in Africa, who is currently exploring for a sixth, has a simple message for US President Barack Obama, who this week hosted the US-Africa Leaders Summit with the objective of turning Africa into a viable emerging market.
“If you want to lift Africa into an emerging market category, you’ve got to fund capacity and capacity means the need in government to understand why you need business and capacity in business, so that people become wealthy so they reinvest. Alongside those two key components you need infrastructural investment,” Randgold Resources CEO Dr Mark Bristow commented to Mining Weekly Online in an interview following the release by the Africa-focused London-listed company of its second-quarter (Q2) results, which saw it produce 227 283 oz of gold in the three months to June 30 - 2% fewer than during the first quarter.
A production stutter at Randgold’s newest Kibali mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and recovery issues at the Tongon operation in Côte d’Ivoire are hiccoughs that hid three consecutive quarters of record performance at the company’s flagship Loulo-Gounkoto, in Mali, which put overall Q2 production 41% higher than the corresponding quarter last year.
Loulo-Gounkoto’s performance has set Randgold up to achieve its minimum 1.1-million-ounce guidance for the year, which is also likely to see the Q2-faltering Kibali hit its 550 000 oz target as well.
At the same time, the developing Kibali mine in the DRC remained on track to reach its forecast target despite commissioning disruptions.
The decrease was mainly due to a drop in recoveries and throughput while the plant was processing tricky transitional ore during the commissioning of the sulphide flotation and concentrate treatment circuit.
Development of the underground mine saw the orebody been intersected as planned and stoping is scheduled to deliver additional ore to the mill in the fourth quarter of this year.
Hydropower plants that the company is building to power its DRC mine have begun generating power at a low $0.10/kWh. Capital payback is 20 months as a trade-off against diesel.
Randgold is continuing to invest in its sustainability programmes, driven by its core belief that its host communities should benefit from its presence.
Investec analysts report that Randgold remains the go-to gold stock in London, but is fully valued under their base case assumptions of $1 300/oz gold and trading at a 28% premium to their calculation of net present value.
Cost an ounce rose by 2% to $701/oz on the previous quarter but was 12% down on Q2 in 2013.
Profit from mining of $162.3-million decreased by 5% from the previous quarter but was up 54% on the corresponding quarter in 2013.
Loulo-Gounkoto’s 174 052 oz was up 3% on Q1. Another significant development saw the paste backfill plant at the Yalea underground mine being commissioned, enabling miners to harvest a nigh 100% of the high-grade zones.
The complex’s energy cost reduction programme continued to evolve with the installation of two more medium speed generators, due for commissioning in the second half of the year, capable of running on less expensive heavy fuel oil.
The fledgling Kibali operation produced 91 137 oz of gold against the previous quarter’s 112 549 oz from its opencast mine.
In the underground mine being developed, stoping is scheduled to deliver additional ore to the mill in the fourth quarter of this year.
Production at Tongon, in Côte d’Ivoire, continued to be impacted by equipment issues in its crushing circuit, but supplier Sandvik is currently replacing the underperforming vibrocone crushers with conventional hydrocone crushers, and the mine’s performance is expected to improve steadily through the second half of the year, with the plant operating at or near its design throughput capacity by year end.
The Morila retreatment operation in Mali also recorded lower production and higher cost numbers as it adjusted to the pit pushback project.
On the exploration front, ongoing drilling has confirmed the potential for orebody extensions at Loulo and Gounkoto, and the feasibility studies on a Gounkoto underground mine and the Gorumbwa openpit continue to progress.
“Exploration remains the engine that drives our business and even while we’re bedding down Kibali, we’re already hunting for our next big discovery across our extensive and expanding permit portfolio.
“This quarter’s results have again demonstrated the value of a well-balanced asset inventory, with Loulo-Gounkoto stepping up to the plate while Kibali is still a work in progress and Tongon works through its technical challenges,” Bristow added.
Conceived in Johannesburg out of the old Rand Mines stable, the company employs close on 15 000 people across Africa, where it has a tradition of developing local management.
Randgold has paid dividends for the last seven years and is forecasting ongoing dividend growth, reminiscent of South Africa’s gold-mining companies of yesteryear, which were everything a gold investment offered, plus big dividend payers, because of their high profitability.
Randgold has created value through its discovery and development philosophy and remained committed to giving back to its shareholders as well as continuing to grow.
The concept of its ten-year plan is to show that it can deliver strong cash flow with limited capital expenditure. "

Mali to boost funding +policing, of artisanal gold mining
www.miningweekly.com/article/mali-to-boost-funding-and-polic…
" BAMAKO – Mali plans to boost funding opportunities for its artisanal miners and to improve the policing of a sector that produces about a third of the country's gold exports, officials said on Thursday at the start of a mining reform meeting.
Artisanal gold mining is plagued by frequent fatal accidents, smuggling and reports of child labour. Nor are the miners restricted on where they dig their pits, resulting in widespread environmental damage.
Mali is Africa's third largest gold miner behind South Africa and Ghana and from about 350 sites contributed about 30% of the 67.4 tonnes it exported in 2013.
Artisanal mining is on the rise in Mali as neighbours including Ghana, Senegal and Burkina Faso have imposed restrictions on the sector, driving more miners into Mali.
Speaking at the meeting, Abdoulaye Pona, president of Mali's chamber of mines, and mines minister, Boubou Cisse, said the government was negotiating with banks to give miners easier access to financing for equipment and newly formed cooperatives would be supervised and revenues distributed equitably.
"With this system, the miners will no longer continue to dig holes from right to left, here and there. Mining will be done in selected corridors and at the end of the activities we will close the holes to restore the ecosystem," Pona said.
President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, also at the meeting, called on miners to end the practice of child labour.
"We will not allow children into gold mining sites," Keita said, "We have to stop this."
A 2011 report by Human Rights Watch detailed reports of children aged 6 to 17 in Mali's artisanal mines digging pits, working underground in unstable mines, carrying and crushing heavy ore, and using toxic mercury to extract gold.
At least 16 people were killed and eight injured when a shaft in an artisanal gold mine some 130 km (80 miles) south of Mali's capital Bamako collapsed on Saturday.

Zahlen für Q3:
http://www.randgoldresources.com/randgold-posts-new-producti…
